The eye sees

Look over my shoulder

Leave  plastic paint behind

Zinc white on  last nights dinner plate

Oils that clash Prussian blue alizarin  burnt sienna too

Raw umber mix casts a shadow around you

Faceless but not for long

Paint  with passion and panache!

You know he just stares back

Shadow and light with raw umber drawing out the features from the darkness

Not allowing it to dry, burnt sienna zinc white

Faded last weeks sun tan

Hints of tints mixing , watch those colours cool dowm

It feels good to paint again …

She will have to wait

The difference losing white, deepening alizarin, burnt umber new to me

She’s soft new palettes

Yesterday’s plate

Using oils left over

Tacky but true

First you’ve got to have heart

Youth that’s when the grin should start

Your seats are waiting

The opera begins

Time for tea …oil dries fast
Dry brush , tech stuff floods in and takes over ..
Starting to feel a bit drained

The more I focus the less aware I am of what’s going on around me

It touches our inside world

Mind relax

we’re not finished yet folks

Faceless but not for long

Happiness who can define it , a pleasure to paint

Away away from the mundane for me

Form from the darkness

No pots or ironing

No shopping list for me

You won’t find me in the kitchen,

The smell of paint is strong

Tubes of paints without lids unwrapped in tesco carrier bags

My eye can see the shape the hand can hold the brush

Don’t think too much Jill lass

Alizarin, Raw Umber too work well with Prussian Blue

‘Walking in Westgate’

On to King Street passing Merchant Gate

Walking in Westgate

If I hurry up I won’t be late

Folks have many problems and worries on their minds

But by being creative refreshment you will find

Walking in Westgate.
(Musical influence by bass man David)

Emerging out of the Blues

With her black lacquered Bob

Flapper girl

All that Jazz

Capture silver screen romance.

Silver screen romance

I paint when the daylight rests on the wall

Form out of darkness

Stepping out into the light

Each one stands alone

They call her sexy

Called her jazz

Party girl

Silver screen romance

The weight that entangles us

That’s a weight off my slate

                               Gorilla in the mist

                               I haven’t got a glue

                               It’s a little bit funny

                              Why white?

                               Emulsion ready chips

                               Pull out the drop leaf

                               Kitchen table can take it

                                Gorilla in the mist

                                 Do it for the process

Getting anxious

Fire wood sorted anyway

Dads words come mind ” you can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear”

No that’s negative

You can do it

Love notes

I hope that my work reflect and transmits, even to a small degree the exhilaration and joy I feel when I created them. Tech support has been a pleasure without whom reinterpretation would not be possible, giving us a presence. Save those love notes they come back round to you.
With words we cannot say

But desperate to share

Our blackout poetry

       Thinking through the shadows

To keep our love

Deep rooted, strong

We make it up as we go along.

So please accept this gift of pretty bloom.

In our affections

Make more room
Green Lines
